iPod touch "on the road" with FCCLA

Heidi Hostert attended the FCCLA District 8 Leadership Conference as a member of the State Student Body Team.  She presented roundtable sessions to members on the use of technology to help increase awareness of fitness and healthy eating.

Heidi utilized the school's iPod touch lab after researching and installing several fitness-related apps.  These included:

FMC-BMI

My Fitness Pal
Eat This, Not That! The Game

In addition Heidi explained how the O'Neill Cross Country Team uses Nike+ sport bands and the nikeplus.com website to track and increase their workouts over the summer and during the season.

Visit from the Nebraska Education Commissioner

Dr. Roger Breed traveled to O'Neill last Friday, October 15, and spent some time witnessing learning in action at O'Neill Public School.   We were honored to host him and share the highlights of what our school has to offer.  OHS students and teachers alike impressed Dr. Breed.  Conversations about the future of education with the State Commissioner shared a sense of urgency and hope for continual improvement.  But already, we at OHS, have a great foundation upon which to build.
